College of Humanities and Social Science

In 1997, UP Mindanao’s former College of Arts and Science (CAS) was broken down into other colleges. Thus, the College of Humanities and Social Science was formed. The College of Humanities and Social Sciences’ (CHSS) signature focus on experiential learning with the rigorous study of society, culture, politics, and ethics. It also equips students with the marketable skills necessary to excel in the job market or continue on to graduate and professional studies. This college serves every student, regardless of major, by supporting core curriculum components, creating opportunities for interactive education, and encouraging community engagement through co-curricular initiatives.
